Started thinking I took that last ask a little too seriously :P Hey, something in the ask box is a rare event, I got excited…. we all rant about our innermost hopes and dreams when we’re excited, right?
So xahhx asked “What’s something you really want?” and the easy answer is what’s pictured above: Either the Rockler Miter-Tight Picture Frame Clamp or the Rockler Miter Vise -drools-
If you’re into wood or shop work, Rockler makes some insane tools check it.
Over the next few days I am going to be building a large mobile base for my table saw, so that I can make my space a little more flexible. At 600 lbs I can’t afford to cut any corners, which brings us to these pretty serious 2-1/4” baltic birch laminations.

These woodslicer blades cut like a dream.
Some southern yellow up on the bandsaw this afternoon. #resaw #woodwork #surnamegoods #process (at Surname Goods Workshop)
Planking the Ash on the resaw. Cut various width boards because I had no specific project in mind so thought it would be useful to have some variety. The end grain was covered with an oil based paint because it looses moisture faster than other parts of the plank which would cause it to split in the drying process. Now the boards will go into a covered (to protect from rain) but open (to allow wind through) shed to dry. It really is exciting to be with the wood from the begining of the process.
